Background: The Rise of the Digital Senior
In the challenging days of the corona pandemic, senior citizens all over the world suffered from loneliness. However, amid the isolation, a remarkable shift occurred. Faced with the necessity of remote connections, these individuals defied expectations and began embracing the digital landscape with determination. Once considered technologically challenged, they became more and more adept at online platforms. From video calls to virtual social gatherings, seniors are today navigating the digital world with newfound proficiency.
The Problem
More seniors are searching for ways to work past retirement
- Almost half (46%) of Americans aged 60 to 75 surveyed by AAG said they plan to work part-time after they retire from full-time work.
- Nearly one-fifth (18%) of respondents said they will work past the age of 70, up from 8% in a 2019 survey.
Research & Analysis
People who work past age 60+ are:
- 3 times more likely to report being in good health
- ½ as likely to have serious health problems such as cancer or heart disease

We conducted user research to understand the needs and preferences of senior citizens in Israel who are interested in freelance work. Our research showed that many seniors are interested in using their life skills and expertise to earn extra income, but they face challenges in finding job opportunities and navigating the online job market.
